How CISC can facilitate the work of students:

  • Keep in mind that students are the reason CUNY exists.
  • Facilitate communication between all the students on the sustainability councils.
  • Provide more workshops
    • General: How to recruit, run an effective meeting, plan an event, etc.
    • Sustainability: What is current climate science, waste issues, building issues, etc.
  • Make sure that there are consistent meeting times.
  • Help support group events by providing food/giveaways/incentives.
  • Provide news on environmental legislation and potential actions.
  • Provide a central mentoring place.
  • USE WIKI AS AN ARCHIVAL AND UPDATE TOOL

  • Create a Google calendar.

Actions for next time:

  • Everyone find out 2 things:
    • Who are the facilities people on my campus?
    • Who are the people in charge of the sustainability task force on my campus? And what students are involved?
  • Check out the Wiki and see what you like, what you don’t like, what it could be to you and other students. (Remember, the WIKI is in development, so don’t pay 100% attention to the structure please!)
